HOSTAPHAN® Barrier Films
HOSTAPHAN® polyester films (boPET) are well-known for their good oxygen barrier as an essential part of packaging laminates. The laminate can be transparent, either with matt or glossy appearance. With a metallization, the barrier can be further improved.
Our coloured HOSTAPHAN® polyester films can be used in a wide variety of applications. White films e.g. can be optimally printed as lids or labels. Black and light blocking films are suitable, among other things as sun protection, also in building elements. Yellow films appear noble and golden in combination with metal.
Manufacturers have many requirements for lids in food packaging, both in terms of stability and e.g. the ease of removal by the customer is concerned. We have a wide variety of solutions, also regarding recyclability of the films or the content of post consumer recyclate (PCR) in our films. Our lidding films can be used from closing yoghurt pots to microwave dishes that are self-ventilating.
Sorting and recycling of polyester can only grow if there are applications using the resulting PCR. The HOSTAPHAN® PCR film series with 30 – 70 % post consumer reclaim is therefore an active push for more circularity of plastics. The PCR material used for HOSTAPHAN® PCR originates from PET bottles, trays and films from controlled European waste streams. These films are also suitable for direct food contact.
In many processes, films are used as carriers that are removed from the final product after processing. Such films are called release films. HOSTAPHAN® is particularly suited to release applications, as we can fine tune the separation properties versus other polymers. Mechanical stability, temperature stability and chemical resistance are other important characteristics.
Different environmental conditions require perfectly adapted products. Our stabilized HOSTAPHAN® polyester films are optimally adapted in many cases. Our UV-stable films absorb and protect e.g. packaging and truck bodies, flame-retardant films are used for textiles and buildings. We also offer temperature-stable films for use in ovens or insulation.
In order to optimize the properties of polyester films for specific applications, the surface can be modified chemically. These include coatings that e.g. improve the antistatic properties, optical effects such as crystal-clear or matt films and films that have two different surfaces in order to achieve certain optical or haptic effects.

Acetron™ LSG (POM-C) - Life Sciences Grade Polyoxymethylene Copolymer
Acetron ® LSG (POM-C) stock shapes are produced from selected batches of polyacetal copolymer resin. This engineering plastic combines good mechanical strength, stiffness, impact strength, chemical resistance, dimensional stability and friction and wear properties with an excellent machinability.
Altron™ PC 1000 machine grade polycarbonate (PC) is a transparent amorphous thermoplastic which offers very high impact strength and high modulus of elasticity.
Armor-X™ - Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene
Armor-X's™ non-marring, cushioned surface shields critical surfaces and heavy, expensive parts and equipment, including stainless steel, from gouges and scratches.
Acetron POM-H Delrin is a homopolymer acetal, manufactured and stocked in rod and plate. It offers slightly higher mechanical properties than Acetron ® GP Acetal, but may contain a low-density center, especially in larger cross-sections. Copolymer acetal also offers better chemical resistance than homopolymer acetal. Delrin is ideal for small diameter, thin-walled bushings that benefit from the additional strength and rigidity of homopolymer acetal.
Duratron™ LSG PEI - Life Sciences Grade Polyetherimide
