“Adapting, Discovering, Connecting” – Roxanne’s Journey at Mitsubishi Chemical Group

Roxanne Ng joined Mitsubishi Chemical Group (MCG) in February 2026 as Vice President & Regional Lead, Corporate Development team (EMEA & Americas) based in Düsseldorf. From day one, she has been eager to connect with colleagues across the organization.

Describe your first month at MCG in three words:
If I had to sum up my first month, it would be: “Adapting, discovering, connecting.” These three words capture both the excitement of learning a new role and the opportunity to connect with people across teams and regions.

First impressions & favorite moments:
My favorite moment so far has been the Düsseldorf office Karneval party. It was such a fun and informal setting, where I got to meet colleagues from different teams and regions. That experience helped me break the ice, start building relationships, and feel immediately part of the MCG community.

Belonging & inclusion:
I felt welcomed not only through small gestures—like colleagues introducing themselves and inviting me to lunch—but also through the chance to visit the Japan headquarters and meet the core team. Being able to see the bigger picture and connect with people across regions made me feel truly part of the global MCG community.

Growth, development & recognition:
During my first year, I hope to deepen my strategic negotiation and project management skills, expand cross-regional and cross-functional collaboration, and strengthen pipeline development capabilities. I want to contribute to transformative projects that drive growth and create lasting value for the organization.

Small gestures that made a big difference:
Sometimes it’s the little things that matter most. When colleagues from different teams reached out to introduce themselves or invited me to lunch, it made me feel immediately welcomed and included. Another small gesture that meant a lot was when my manager or colleagues took a few minutes to check in and see how I was settling in. That personal attention really made me feel supported.

What “MCG values each individual’s voice” means to me:
As a new joiner, it feels both reassuring and motivating. I know I can bring my ideas, questions, and experiences to the table with confidence. Experiences like attending Karneval and visiting Japan showed me that MCG genuinely values collaboration and contributions from every individual across regions. It motivates me to listen actively, contribute thoughtfully, and grow in an environment built on trust and respect.

Advice to future new joiners:
Be proactive in connecting with colleagues across teams and regions. Take advantage of informal moments—chats, lunches, office events. Stay curious, ask lots of questions, and embrace opportunities to learn from different perspectives. It’s a welcoming environment where your contributions really do matter.

Joining MCG has been more than starting a new job—it’s about becoming part of a global community where my voice is heard, my growth is supported, and my work contributes to meaningful impact.
