What motivated my career moves
At every step, I’ve been motivated by a desire to challenge myself, to learn something new, and to grow beyond my comfort zone. I’ve been drawn to roles that challenge me, stretch my thinking, and allow me to see situations from different perspectives. Experiencing different perspectives has always been especially meaningful to me, as it shapes how I think and lead.
How I prepared for my next roles
I prepared for my next role primarily by building strong connections—taking the time to understand people, the business, and the organization in depth. I actively sought out opportunities to contribute to projects, which gave me broader insights and exposure beyond my core role. Whenever possible, I stepped forward—whether presenting to the business or Global HR—and consistently pushed myself to take ownership and expand my scope. Alongside this hands-on experience, I complemented my development with targeted training and learning, but the most impactful growth came from actively engaging, contributing, and learning in real situations.
Support I received along the way
Throughout my journey, I’ve always felt strongly supported—by my peers, my line managers, and colleagues across the business and other functions, as well as the wider Global HR community. There has consistently been a culture of openness and collaboration, where if you reach out for support or guidance, you can rely on people to step in and help.
It’s been a real roller-coaster—with many highs and some lows—but always surrounded by amazing people who supported me throughout the journey. And one thing is true: I’ve definitely never been bored.
Challenges I overcame
One of the key challenges for me was building self-confidence and learning to step back and see the bigger picture, rather than getting caught up in the details. I also initially overthought the transition from being a colleague to stepping into a leadership role—when in reality, it was much more natural than I expected.
In addition, I learned not to take decisions too personally, especially in moments of organizational change.
My advice to others
Connect with people, believe in yourself, and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Sometimes you grow most when you step into something before you feel fully prepared.
