What motivated my career moves
My career has been driven by curiosity and a desire to broaden my impact. I’ve consistently looked for opportunities to take on greater responsibility and contribute beyond my immediate role.
Each step has expanded my perspective—from site-level leadership to multi-site and ultimately regional responsibility—while allowing me to continuously grow as a leader.
How I prepared for my next roles
Preparation has come through continuous learning and practical experience. Early on, I completed a Finance for Non-Financials course to strengthen my understanding of business performance and P&L management.
I further developed my leadership through the Global Senior Leadership Program (GLSP), which enhanced both my leadership capabilities and cultural awareness.
I’ve also learned through hands-on experience—supporting site integration, developing language skills, and taking on complex operational challenges.
Support I received along the way
Strong collaboration with teams, experienced colleagues, and supportive managers has played an important role in my development.
Performance and Development Review (PDR) discussions helped shape opportunities for growth, while coaching and peer support were especially valuable when stepping into new and unfamiliar roles.
Challenges I overcame
A key challenge was managing responsibilities across multiple locations while supporting the integration of a newly acquired facility.
Another was transitioning from direct to indirect leadership when moving into multi-site responsibility across global operations.
More recently, moving into a corporate role after more than 30 years in operations required a shift in mindset and leadership style. Each transition demanded adaptability and openness to learning.
My advice to others
Stay curious and open to new opportunities—even before you feel fully ready.
Take on challenges proactively rather than waiting for formal recognition, and invest in experiences that stretch your capabilities.
Strong relationships and learning from others are just as important as technical expertise.
