As part of this commitment, we co-lead the Automotive Plastics Circularity Project, which develops advanced dismantling, shredding, and sorting technologies to recycle end-of-life vehicle plastics.

Today, only about 2.5% of these plastics are recycled in closed-loop systems in Europe; this project aims to overcome technical and economic barriers to significantly increase recovery and reuse. By collaborating with industry partners and sharing knowledge, we strive to transform ELV plastic waste into valuable resources, reducing carbon emissions and landfill waste. The pilot launched in early 2025 with eight global chemical companies, and first results are expected in early 2026.
