“Challenge, Warmth, and Learning: My First Three Months at Mitsubishi Chemical Group”

I’m Corentin Etienne, and I joined Mitsubishi Chemical Group (MCG) as an HR Development Officer at Mitsubishi Chemical Performance Polymers (MCPP) in Tiffauges, France in September 2025.

What attracted you to MCG?
I was already familiar with the Mitsubishi Chemical Group brand and was curious to learn more about its technical expertise. I was also looking for an international environment where I could challenge myself—and that’s exactly what I’ve found here.

First impressions:
On my first day, my manager introduced me to teams across the site, so people already knew who I was. I also received a welcome box, my IT equipment was fully set up, and my onboarding schedule was well prepared. All of this helped me settle in quickly and feel ready to start contributing from day one.

What helped you feel included early on?
Even before I arrived, HR shared a short introduction about me on screens around the site. It was a small gesture, but it made a big difference in helping me feel recognized. Informal moments like team lunches, after-work events, and coffee chats also helped me quickly feel part of the team.

What helped you feel part of the team right away?
Being seated with my team, having my manager close by, and sharing informal moments together made a real difference. These simple things created a strong sense of connection from the start.

What made the biggest difference in your development so far?
My role is very versatile—I’m involved in recruitment, onboarding, and training—so I collaborate with many different people across the organization. I also have a manager who trusts me, gives me autonomy, and supports me when needed. That balance has really helped me grow.
